Distance Runners Time off from training:
It's very important to take 2 weeks off from training (no running) after your last race of the track season. It will serve you well both physically and mentally. During that time do other activities if you are restless such as hike, walk, bike, basketball, etc. Once you start running in June, you want to make sure you're recharged both physically and mentally, excited to start running again as our XC season is a long one that goes through November! June will consist of easy running and enjoying the company of your teammates. We will begin more serious training in early July.
